8th PHILIPPINE TOYS, HOBBIES AND COLLECTIBLES CONVENTION
Wee! I have just attended the 8th Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles Convention held in SM Megamall Megatrade Hall 2 and 3, 5th Level Building B. Organized by TOYCON, the event will be from June 13 to 14, 2009 only. The entrance fee is worth 100 Php only, it is worth it because lots of freebies will be given away but only until supplies are available. This was my first time to attend this kind of event, I was alone because my repapips don’t want to go with me. It’s ok, they missed half of their life not to attend this convention.
The Adventures of Semidoppel (naks!)
It was 1 o’clock in the afternoon when I decided to go alone, I wish I have been there earlier but that’s impossible, I have work in the morning and my only free time is in the afternoon. When I got there, I saw weird-looking people, I don’t have any idea why they look like that. Then I knew it, these were cosplayers behind me, but not yet in costume. I went to the ticket booth and bought a ticket, here’s the ticket.
The ticket is not for the entry purpose only, it is also for the raffle event they held inside. I did not join the raffle because I want my ticket to be my first souvenir, haha.
When I am already inside, I saw the huge gallery of different toys, they have Transformers
Marvel Superheroes like Ironman, Spiderman, etc.
Wolverine of the X-men
Star Wars
Life size Action figures like Thor, C3PO.
And many more!

Different booths can be seen inside and one of them is the E-Games booth, where they give freebies to their registered players. All I did was register to their booth and after that they gave me a Cabal CD Installer complete with latest patch. The posters were already out of stock, so sad T_T. GM Boom and GM Charl were also in the event, they endorsed Cabal Online, they show game features, and actual game play, latest patch and the upcoming patch Soul and Siena.

They have also shown different movie trailers of Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, Shorts and The Hangover.
Different bands performed, they have Reklamo, Fault line, Haponesang Dilat and Japan Baby.
It was so shocking when at the middle of Japan Baby’s third performance, the power was cut. “May sumabog po.” that’s what the host said. We all thought that the smoke that covered the band was just produced by dry ice. After 30 minutes, all went back to normal and the cosplay contest began.
Before I proceed to the cosplay, I just want to share the most important thing that happened yesterday, I saw Ashley and my ultimate crush Alodia. These two were so famous because of their beauty and the way they portray different characters. Alodia is already seven years in cosplaying, she was also one of the judges on the cosplay event. I was so near to Ashley but I was so shy to ask her to have a picture with me. I was one foot away from her, and Alodia was about two feet away from me. I have never been this shy to a lady before, it seems that I am seeing an angel, so overwhelmed of the beauty in front of me.

It was already 5 o’clock in the afternoon when the cosplay contest began. There were 170 cosplayers that joined the event. Different babes..ehem… made my fantasies come to life ahahaha! Also different superheroes, villains, ninjas, robots, and monsters appear.
Some are so gorgeous wearing their costumes, some have different gimmicks, some are really on “career mode”, just kile the cosplayers of Mecha Godzilla, Bumblebee and Ran Online character.
And this is my favorite, the Little Bumblebee.
It was really tiring but it was so much fun. It felt like that I became a child again, wanting every toy I see, craving to be like my favorite superheroes, imitating their moves and the way they look. I will be on this kind of convention again if I will have time, and next time I might join the cosplay, I am planning to portray Kakashi, and my 4 year-old brother as Naruto haha!
