All Star Haiti Telethon Raised $57 Million, And Counting

The two-hour telethon “Hope for Haiti Now” aired last Friday, is an All Star television special organized to gather donations for the victims of Haiti quake. According to Lisa Paulsen, president and CEO of the Entertainment Industry Foundation, said that they already gathered $57 million and still counting. The program was televised through different major stations and channels, it was also streamed live online. Different celebrities and well-known performers appeared in the telethon. The reported amount does not include donations by corporations or via iTunes, where people are able to buy performances of the event for 99 cents each, or the entire album for $7.99. The two-hour telethon will be in CD, it includes the new song “Stranded” (Haiti Mon Amour)” by Jay-Z, Rihanna, Bono and the Edge, the single is now number one single nowadays in iTune. People can still donate, just visit the “Hope for Haiti” website or you can send donations through text or phone.
