Sony will be selective on when and where the PlayStation Vita will be launched. This new portable system was confirmed to be available in Japan before the year ends, and they are the sole recipient of this new gaming gadget. It was believed that America and Europe might have the PlayStation Vita in early 2012, so gamers in those areas should be more patient.

PlayStation Vita boasts its motion controls and touchpads on its screen as well as the rear side. How much? The price starts at $249 while the 3G-enabled version costs $299. PlayStation’s rival Nintendo lowered the price of their Nintendo 3DS, and they thought PlayStation will be alarmed because of it, but they were wrong. According to Kaz Hirai, “There’s no need to lower the price, just because someone else that happens to be in the video game business decided that they were going to.” Let the game console wars begin!

Nintendo is the top seller of gaming consoles as of now, they already sold 86 million units since 2006 when it was launched. Recently, rumors are spreading that the new game system, Wii’s successor will be unveiled next month at the E3 trade show at Los Angeles. There are still no confirmations about the specifications or features of the new game console. Some are speculating if it can be better than the first Wii, or what might be the whole package can offer to the gamers.

Nintendo should better release a more enhanced Wii console now that their sales are dropping. According to Marketwatch, Nintendo’s sales drop 40% on March and 38% last April, this is alarming now that the gaming industry’s demands are very high.

By the way the console is not yet finalized if it will be called Wii2, some called it Project café or Stream, but I wish they won’t  call it Wii Wii. Just kidding!

Gamers around the globe are so disappointed because they cannot connect to the PS3 Network. Sony confirmed it on their Twitter profile and to their PS3 blog. A glitch in the Sony PS3 Network made a connection problem that made consoles to the online stores, download and multiplayer games inaccessible.  According to a report, not all consoles are affected, the older version of the PS3 consoles are mostly affected but not the slim types that were launched recently. According to Makiko Noda, spokeswoman for Sony Entertainment in Tokyo, she stated that as of 3 p.m. (Japan time) the company had still not determined the cause of the problem.
