“Anything that is too much is bad!” Recently, a 20-year old son died because of overplaying Xbox games. Chris Staniforth died because of pulmonary embolism, this occurs when someone sits in the same position for several hours. This death-causing effect usually happened to passengers with long flights, and experts say that this can also happen to gamers if they don’t take several breaks. Even a professor on blood-related conditions confirms that it was really unhealthy to have a gaming habit like that.

According to David Staniforth, Chris’ father said that his son played Halo for 12 hours. David started a campaign that aims to make gamers realize that too much playing online games can kill them. He wants to warn gamers and parents as well about the risk of too much playing online games.

This is not the first time that this incident happened, in 2005, a South Korean gamer died because of playing for three days without a break. Also, studies show that Asian players usually collapsed after 15 hours of playing games. What a weird fact is that?

The biggest crossover fighting game developed by Capcom finally revealed fourteen fighters. Street Fighter X Tekken now added four more brawlers, they are Steve (the British boxer), Yoshimitsu (from Soul Calibur and Tekken), Dhalsim and Poison (transsexual girl enemy from Final Fight). Are you a gamer? Are you fond of shooting games? How about a shooter game combined with racing? If all your answers is “yes” I think this game is best for you. Gamers watch out for the upcoming first-person shooter game which is still under development of id Software.  id Software, a company based in Richardson, Texas is also the one who created these two well-known games, namely, Doom and Quake. This is an American video game development company and together with Betheseda Softworks, they plan to release the game sometime in September. id Software will use their latest graphic technology which is powered by id Tech 5, this tool was believed to be a very good help for the game developers.

This game aside for being a first-person shooter game also includes racing and lots of explorations on a planet ruined by a meteor. By the way, there are two multiplayer modes available in this game, Combat Rally and Legends of the Wasteland. Did I mention rally racing? Yes it’s true, there are vehicular combats and they will be in the third-person mode. Also, according to the developers, online rally racing modes will be available in this game. What’s the difference between the two? It’s the number of players who can join on these modes I mentioned.  On the “Combat Rally”, six players will be competing on an all out match, players should obtain rally points which can be found inside the arena, and you can also kill other players to steal their points.  On the other hand, the “Legends of the Wasteland” is composed of a two-player mission game with a certain storyline to follow.

Actually, Rage have lots of game features, actually there are five portions revealed at this moment. These are “find buggy parts”, Mutant Bash TV, Dead City, the Authority Prison and the Dusty 8 Rocket Race.

When you start the game, a tutorial area is available so that you can familiarize with the controls and other gameplay features. What I love most in this game is the inventory system, all the loots you obtained from your enemies or from your quests/missions are sorted accordingly. Also in the inventory, you can see the outstanding jobs /quests you have taken, stats list and the list of weapons you have.

Even though the game is not yet launched, John Carmack is now thinking for the sequel of the game, and he promised that it will be available on the consoles where the first “RAGE” game is unavailable. Rage will be playable on the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms and will be available on September 13.

Starting April 18 up to May 15, the Xbox 360-exclusive multiplayer game will have its beta test. The said expensive beta testing of the game by Microsoft and Epic Games can be played by those who purchased Bulletstorm because they received a free code for the beta testing. Fours maps were revealed on the beta testing of the game, this includes “Old Town”, “Trenches”, “Checkout” and “Thrashball”. The last two on the list were believed to be the best maps among the four.

For those who don’t have the free codes, you have to wait for the beta to be opened on April 25, sadly, you’re a week late for those who have the codes. By the way, Gears of War 3 will be available in store on September 20, 2011 and is exclusive for Xbox 360.

After several years of waiting for the sequel of the greatest cross over fighting, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, finally, Marvel, Capcom together with MT Framework finally, Marvel  vs. Capcom 3 has been revealed to the public!

A teaser trailer is now available, if you haven’t watched it yet, the video shows Ryu fighting against Wolverine, Morrigan against Iron Man, and the Hulk against Chris Redfield of Resident Evil. Three more characters are confirmed, they are Spiderman, Storm and Magneto. The teaser trailer is in full 3D, and Polygon Pictures, Inc is the one who edited it.

Rumors are spreading that Marvel Versus Capcom 3 will be distributed later this year or early 2011.The game platforms are not yet announced but it was confirmed by Capcom that it will be available on Xbox.

The Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package will arrive in UK at 12 p.m on March 30, 2010.  On the other hand, Xbox 360 users can download it on the same date at 12PM also. It will cost US$15 or 1, 200 MS points. The package includes 5 maps, three of them are new and the other two are modified versions that were used at Call of Duty 4. These maps will be available by 9PM PST, and the pack will go live at 12 pm UTC. The downloadable file is 329 MB

The package includes the following multiplayer maps (from their website)

• “Bailout,” a multi-level apartment complex torn apart by combat with tight corridors and blown out suites along with vantage points overlooking the connecting courtyards and parking lots.
• “Storm,” an open industrial park with large abandoned warehouses and factories littered with heavy machinery subjected to the rain and booming approach of an impending thunderstorm.
• “Salvage,” a snowy junkyard fortified by stacked debris and crushed cars that offer a varied layout of open and close-quartered combat areas.
• “Crash“, a war-torn urban environment centered by a downed helicopter and surrounded by vantage points from multi-story shops and destroyed buildings.
• “Overgrown,” which features open fields with high grass and a massive dry creek bed that splits this neglected village in half.

Sega have announced last September that they are developing a new game and they coded it as “Project Needlemouse.” Just recently the mystery console game has been leaked and totally revealed that it was Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1, and it will be released this coming July. It will be available in these platforms, XBLA, PSN and WiiWare, all will be available this coming summer. Only Sonic will be the playable character in this new game going to be released by Sega. The game will be episodic, and Sega confirmed to Gamespot that the game will support online leaderboards and motion control on Wii and PS3.
