Isang beses sa isang taon, iyo namang pahalagahan

Sana trabaho na lang ako para kahit ikaw ay mag-overtime

Basta ba magkasama tayo kahit anywhere at anytime

Kahit gabihin man tayo ay hinding-hindi magsisisi

Basta ikaw at ako lamang ang siyang magkatabi.

Sana trabaho na lang ako para laging nasa schedule

Gaya ng bawat out of town mo na hindi maputol-putol

Alam mo kung kailan pupuntahan at kalian uuwian

Idagdag mo naman ako sa schedule mo, puwede ba iyan?

Sana trabaho na lang ako na kahit traffic at umuulan

Ay pupuntahan mo hindi dahil sa kailangan

Alam mo namang ako’y naririto at naghihintay sa iyo

Kailangan din kita, ako ba’y naririnig mo?

Sana nga talaga ay trabaho na lang ako

Na dati ay pilit na hinahanap-hanap mo

Ngayon mo subukang ipasa ang resume mo

Inay at itay sa inyong pagtanda

Gusto kong suklian ang inyong mga ginawa

Mula pagkabata hanggang tumanda

Nariyan palagi ang inyong pag-aalaga

Noong ako’y bata pa ay inalalayang lubos

Hindi hinahayaan madapa o mapadausdos

Hawak kamay habang ako’y tinuturuan maglakad

Makitang humakbang iyan lamang ang hinahangad.

Sa inyong pagtanda ako’y inyong hawakan muli

Ngunit sa pagkakataong ito ako ang magsisilibi

Dito sa aking mga braso, inay at itay ay humawak

Aalalayan kayo sa bawat ninyong yapak.

Noong hindi ko pa aninag ang mundong ginagalawan

Gabay ko kayo sa aking lugar na kinaroroonan

Mag-ingat ka baka ika’y kanya lamang gagamitin.

Meron din naman akala mo’y kakampi

Siya ay kakampi kapag ika’y may katunggali

Pero wag ka sanang minsan ay magkamali

Baka isang araw wala na sa iyong tabi

Mag-ingat din tayo sa mga mapagkunwari

Kapag kaharap ka’y maganda ang sinasabi

Pero kapag nakatalikod ka sa ganitong uri ng tao

I’m sharing you today a book which I read few years ago, I think I was in high school that time. My mentor Miss Sanvictores introduced to her IV-Love class (the class where I belong) this book written by Og Mandino titled “The Greatest Salesman in the World”. I can still remember the time I read the first teaching, I already knew that the book is really worth reading. At first I thought that the story is all about business only, but I was wrong. Want to know why?

1. Never again will I pity or belittle myself.

True. Never pity ourselves if we fail on something. Just like “Desiderata” told me “never compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter… for always there will be a greater or lesser person than yourself”. We were born unique, each of us have certain talents or abilities, the degree on how can we do something depends on our determination.

2. Never again will I greet the dawn without a map.

This pertains to our preparation, the “map” here denotes a plan. If we want to achieve something, we should set an obtainable and time-bound goal. Plan your future, set your goals and put your heart into it, if you do so the plan you prepared will be effective.

3. Always will I bathe my days in the golden glow of enthusiasm.

Enthusiasm is that certain feeling that makes you love what you do. This certain quote is related to this one “Choose a job you love and you’ll

4. Never again will I be disagreeable to a living soul.

Every person has his own perception, beliefs and principles. We have the right to share our opinion, tell what we feel but we never have to impose forcibly what we want. That certain boundary should always be in mind, we don’t think the same, our capability varies.

5. Always will I seek the seed of triumph in every adversity.

“Learn when we commit mistakes, but we don’t have to commit mistakes just to learn” This is my favorite quote and it already tells the meaning of the teaching. If we fail, we should know what to do next time we encounter the same situation. Think better, do better!

6. Never again will I perform any task at less than my best.

“Work half-heartedly done is worse than work undone”. Just like what I previously said, in everything we do put our heart into it.

7. Always will I throw my whole self into the task at hand.

This pertains to focus. How did Manny Pacquiao reached his goals? How did he manage to have eight world titles in different divisions? The answer is focus, determination and the ability of being goal-centered. We should never be distracted, never be intimidated because if we will be affected by these negative vibes, the chances for obtaining success will be diminished.

8. Never again will I wait and hope for opportunity to embrace me.

Opportunity is a gamble. Dare to seek for opportunities, don’t just wait for it to arrive. Take initiative and make the first step, opportunities are just scattered all around you…waiting.

9. Never will I examine, each night, my deeds of the fading day.

Reflect. At the end of the day try to evaluate yourself, know what is lacking and if you determined what it is, you can prepare for it on that same day, and you’ll have your “map” prepared for tomorrow.

10. Always will I maintain contact, through prayer, with my Creator.

The key to success is not just by man’s determination but also with God’s guidance and blessings. Pray. This is the most effective way on telling God what you want, and with His wisdom He will grant your request at the proper place and in the proper time.

I don’t know why I publish this, it just came to my mind that something like this can be an eye-opener to those people like me who have lots of questions in mind. I hope this post I will share will help those who think they are weak, especially to those people who think they are dominant. This is a poem titled “Desiderata” written by Max Ehrmann, a poem taught by my English teacher when I’m still in high school.

I think, one of the reasons why I post this is because of the recent things that irritate me, things that I’m not involve with, but I can’t help myself not to ignore. Recently, people asked me why I post some shoutouts on my Facebook wall that contains rants, I told them that I just wanted to share that point and there’s no particular reason why I posted it. I’m responsible to whatever I might share on my Facebook , and that’s one rule every social networking fanatic should always keep in mind, take full responsibility on what you will share or post. Here are some of the rants I posted (written in Tagalog).

“Nakakatawa ung kaedaran ko lang, ung mga taong God-fearing daw, kelan? Kapag kaharap lang daw ang maraming tao? Galing nila, talo pa ang ningas kugon, nakakaawa kasi nagpupumilit sabihin na maka-Diyos, pero di alam gumawa ng mabuti. Kung ganun lang din ang pgiging God-fearing, di bale ng di maging isa sa kanila. Mas mabuti na lang na tumahimik sa isang tabi at gawin ang alam na mabuti.”

“Q>>Kung nakalayas ka na sa impyerno..babalik ka pa ba?? Ooops wag tanga… ako hindi na…”

“Ikaw na langaw na nakatuntong lamang sa kalabaw, habang maaga pa ay matutunan mo ang pagpapakumbaba, baka dumating ang panahon na sa iyo ay wala ng maniwala. Kung sa harap ng tao’y ikaw ay mabuti, ngunit kapag nakatalikod na ay traydor na maitim ang budhi, mag-isip isip ka, baka makahanap ng katapat, itong kamao ko sa iyo, malamang ay lalapat. Wag maging halimbawa ng langaw na nakatuntong sa kalabaw, nagmamataas ang totoo’y wala namang bilang.”

Back to Desiderata, it’s my little Bible, I know how important the Bible is, but I guess I don’t have to memorize all the chapters and verses just to be a good person. Does anyone know what the BIBLE means?

Every morning, I listen to my favorite radio station, Love Radio 90.7. I always wait for the segment “Tambalan” by Chris Tsuper and Nicolehiyala. These two guys are so funny when they answer questions and give advice to their listeners. They ease boredom when I listen to them during traffic jam when I go to work.

One time Nicole wanted to share a poem. It was entitled “Sa Aking Pagtanda” (I forgot the name of the author). She read it on-air. After hearing the poem, to tell you the truth, I was touched by its message. I suddenly texted my parents and make “lambing” to them. Wondering why? Here’s the poem, hope you read it and feel the message it wanted us to know.

SA AKING PAGTANDA

Kapag dala ng kalabuan ng mata ay nakabasag ako ng pinggan o nakatapon ng
sabaw sa hapag kainan, huwag mo sana akong kagagalitan.

Maramdamin ang isang matanda. Nagse-self-pity ako sa tuwing sinisigawan mo ako.Kapag mahina na ang tenga ko at hindi ko maintindihan ang sinasabi mo, huwag mo naman sana akong sabihan ng “binge!” paki-ulit nalang ang sinabi mo
o pakisulat nalang.Pasensya ka na, anak. Matanda na talaga ako.

Kapag mahina na ang tuhod ko, pagtiyagaan mo sana akong tulungang tumayo,

katulad ng pag-aalalay ko sa iyo noong nag-aaral ka pa lamang lumakad.

Pagpasensyahan mo sana ako kung ako man ay nagiging makulit at paulit-ulit na parang sirang plaka. Basta pakinggan mo nalang ako. Huwag mo sana akong pagtatawanan o pagsasawaang pakinggan.

Natatandaan mo anak noong bata ka pa?kapag gusto mo ng lobo, paulit-ulit mo ‘yong sasabihin, maghapon kang mangungulit hangga’t hindi mo nakukuha ang
gusto mo. Pinagtyagaan ko ang kakulitan mo. Pagpasensyahan mo na rin

sana ang aking amoy. Amoy matanda, amoy lupa. Huwag mo sana akong
piliting maligo. Mahina na ang katawan ko. Madaling magkasakit kapag
nalamigan, huwag mo sana akong pandirihan. Natatandaan mo noong bata ka pa? pinagtyagaan kitang habulin sa ilalim ng kama kapag ayaw mong maligo.

Pagpasensyahan mo sana kung madalas, ako’y masungit, dala na marahil ito ng katandaan. Pagtanda mo, maiintindihan mo rin.Kapag may konti kang panahon, magkwentuhan naman tayo, kahit sandali lang. Inip na ako sa bahay, maghapong nag-iisa. Walang kausap. Alam kong busy ka sa trabaho, subalit nais kong malaman mo na sabik na sabik na akong makakwentuhan ka, kahit alam kong hindi ka interesado sa mgakwento ko.

Natatandaan mo anak, noong bata ka pa? Pinagtyagaan kong pakinggan at intindihin ang pautal-utal mong kwento tungkol sa iyong teddy bear.

At kapag dumating ang sandali na ako’y magkakasakit at maratay sa banig ng karamdaman, huwag mo sana akong pagsawaang alagaan.

Pagpasensyahan mo na sana kung ako man ay maihi o madumi sa higaan, pagtyagaan mo sana akong alagaan sa mga huling sandali ng aking buhay. Tutal hindi na naman ako magtatagal.Kapag dumating ang sandali ng aking pagpanaw, hawakan mo sana ang aking kamay at bigyan mo ako ng lakas ng loob na harapin ang kamatayan. At huwag kang mag-alala, kapag kaharap ko na ang Diyos na lumikha, ibubulong ko sa kanya na pagpalain ka sana … dahil naging mapagmahal ka sa iyong ama’t ina…
