According to Dr. Juliet Cervantes, ex-president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo should undergo operation within this week. Arroyo was diagnosed with damaged cervical spine with multi-level cervical spondylosis, so should immediately undergo operation to prevent paralysis.

“The surgery will decompress the nerves and align the cervical bones. The surgery is risky since it involves the spinal cord and nerves that enable hand movement and breathing,” Cervantes told a press conference. Yahoo News

Arroyo is now confined at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Taguig City, and she will undergo work-up in preparation for her operation. Cervantes said that all the stresses that happened this past few days to GMA contributed to her condition.

Well-known Physicist Stephen Hawking made another intriguing statement when he was interviewed by The Guardian last Sunday. Heaven is nothing more than a “fairy story” invented by people who are “afraid of the dark.” …

“I regard the brain as a computer which will stop working when its components fail,” he told the British newspaper. “There is no heaven or afterlife for broken-down computers.”

The 69-year old is known because of his beliefs that are contradicting the religious aspects, last year he wrote a book titled “The Great Design”. The book contains that the universe needs no God to be created, he believed that the laws of science such as the law if gravity that can create something from nothing.

This physicist was diagnosed having motor neurone disease when he was 21, making him half-paralyzed for about five decades already. He said that he is not afraid of death but not rushing to die. I just wonder, what if the time comes when he dies and he meet God before he will enter hell or heaven. Will he have guts to ask the Creator if he really doesn’t exist during the universe is starting to form? I wish God will answer if his theories are correct.

Who says an electric car cannot dominate an auto show? The Nissan Leaf made it possible by winning the New York International Auto Show, beating the Audi A8 and the BMW 5 Series. This car costs $32, 780, this is the price before the tax incentive, and now it only costs $20,490, making it the most affordable electric vehicle in the U.S. This car is also the first mass-marketed electric vehicle, equipped with the zero-emission technology, a green car designed with considerations for the environment and health.

Check these features of the Nissan Leaf:

• World’s first car which is 5-seater, 5-door hatchback
• An electric motor with 108hp and 206 lb ft of torque, powered by lithium-ion battery modules
• 90 mph top speed
• Can run 100 miles on full charge (as per Nissan)
• 8 hours charging time using 220-240V power supply

But the Nissan Leaf didn’t get the award for the 2011 World Green Car of the Year, it’s the Chevy Volt who gained the award, with a hybrid technology of switching electricity to gasoline as the battery charge depleted.

Although the Nissan Leaf didn’t get that award, I’m still impressed with this new form of car technology. Transportation when innovated in such manner wherein all possible aspects that might be affected will be taken into consideration, environmental pollution will never become a problem anymore.

Yehey! It’s not true, the rumors are not true! My favorite gag show will still be aired! I think you know what it is right? “Bubble Gang will not be cancelled”, that is what Wilma Galvante, GMA 7’s Senior Vice President for entertainment said, clarifying the issue. Unlike what Ricky Lo stated on his column “Funfare” in Philippine Star that Bubble Gang will soon be ended on the Kapuso network, Bubble Gang will still be aired because there’s no reason for the network to end it. As a matter of fact, they consider the gag show as one of the best programs they have. For fifteen years, Bubble Gang remained strong and even becoming stronger, with their new casts, I disagree to what Ricky Lo said that their jokes are flat. For me, their jokes are still effective, the sketches are still funny specially the “MISSPELLING GEE” wherein Ogie Alcasid is the “misspelling master”. Pronouncing simple words in a different way, making it hard for the contestants to spell it. For example, spell “SCENT”, then he will pronounce it as “ISKENT”, another one spell “SPECIES” then he will pronounce it as “ESPISAYS”. Wrong grammar+Wrong pronounciation=LOL!
