Google finally confirmed that they are planning to be social with their new project called Google+, (pronounced as “Google Plus”), though they have denied it several times. But according to them, Google+ is not a social network, they have categorized as “combinations of numerous social services joined in a convenient collection”.

+Circles – according to Google, this is one of the unique features that made them different from Facebook. You can group your online connections and personalize if you want to share everything or only to the chosen online connections only.

“Born This Way” singer Lady Gaga, also known on her real name as Stefani Germanotta was sued by 1800LAWFIRM, a Michigan legal network. According to them, all the sales on the “We Pray for Japan” wristbands were not given to the Japan victims as Lady Gaga promised. The wristband is a white and red rubber with “We Pray for Japan” logo in it and it costs $5.

Also, 1800LAWFIRM alleges the pop star and the companies involved in the marketing and distribution that they overcharge buyers on the shipping costs, thus making it to “artificially inflate the donation amount”. Alyson Oliver, one of the attorney s in 1800LAWFIRM confirms that the philanthropic act in helping the earthquake victims is true, that’s why they want to ensure that all proceeds will be given to them.

The 25-year old pop star already donated about $3 million to the tsunami victims through the sales of the wristbands and other projects. The “most powerful celebrity in the world” as named by Forbes Magazine is now facing a very different problem, a legal one.

This news just made me say “Oh my God!”. Governor Andrew Cuomo just made same-sex marriage legal in New York City, the sixth United States’ state that legalized and signed it into law. Last June 25, 2011, the state senators voted and it resulted to a 33-29, in favor of those who want to legalize it.

“This vote today will send a message across the country. This is the way to go, the time to do it is now, and it is achievable; it’s no longer a dream or an aspiration. I think you’re going to see a rapid evolution,” – Andrew Cuomo

They believed that signing such law is a proof that there is equality in marriage on their state. Gay marriage will start taking place after 30 days, and not only that, gay couples also have the right to divorce.

On the other hand, New York’s Catholic bishops are very disappointed and troubled, according to them, they can treat their bisexual brothers and sisters with respect and love, but still they believe that marriage is the joining of a man and a woman.

I wish that kind of law will not be available here in the Philippines, as a human and as a Christian, I do respect the sanctity of marriage.
