Letterman Versus Leno, Again
After the $45 million deal that NBC and O’Brien agreed last Thursday morning, the Letterman versus Leno issue ignited once again. The head-to-head competition will start on March 1 at 11:35 pm (Eastern Time). Leno will be back on the late night time slot, after two weeks of testing in primetime.

The competition between the two lasted for 16 years, it started when Leno hosted “Tonight” in 1992, and Letterman hosted “Late Show” in 1993, and Leno wins based on the ratings.
Last Monday, Letterman said something controversial, he said “I’m telling jokes and making fun of Jay Leno over and over and over, relentlessly, mercilessly simply for one reason,”…… “I’m really enjoying it.”
Leno strikes back last Wednesday saying this, “Letterman has been hammering me every night,” Leno said on Wednesday’s show. “You know the best way to get Letterman to ignore you? Marry him. He will not bother you. He won’t look you in the eye.” This just proves that the wounds are still not healed after those years.
According to Nielsen, the “Late Show” averages about 4.2 million viewers, on the other hand “The Jay Leno Show” has less than the 5.3 million nightly viewers.
