Mayweather Still Wants to Fight Manny

Recently, Pacquiao’s camp said that that Manny will fight Joshua Clottey this coming march. Top Rank boss Bob Arum said that “This is crazy… we’ve moved on” that’s why they chose Clottey instead of Mayweather.  But Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, who works with Mayweather still don’t want to give up that the Pacquiao-Mayweather bout will still happen on March 13. After six weeks of negotiations, the bout failed to be settled. This happened when Manny did not agree to take a blood test for performance-enhancing drugs 14 days before the proposed March 13 bout. If the bout will materialize, both fighters stand to make much more than $25 million apiece from the much-anticipated bout.

Schaefer explained that what Mayweather’s desire is to “add an extra level of protection for fighters” in boxing. Pacquiao filed a lawsuit against Mayweather’s camp last month, claiming several members had defamed him by intimating he uses performance-enhancing drugs.
