I’m doing a research this past few days, it is about how to increase my blog traffic. As a newbie blogger, having a goal of increasing my blog traffic will take lots of effort and lots of time. By the way my blog is Semidoppel’s Delight, it is already one year since I started to do this kind of stuff, thanks to the influence of Jehzeel, blog owner of Jehzlau Concepts.

MOST SUGGESTED STRATEGIES TO INCREASE BLOG TRAFFIC

1. The Content

It is very important for all bloggers to take into consideration what to blog. Some bloggers said that focusing on a certain interest is very effective because they will have readers that have the same interests like them, but some said that having a blog that tackles almost everything (like my blog) is more effective because different readers will visit your blog. Either of this two ways will be effective,it’s up to the blogger on what approach he will do.

2. Social Bookmarking

Lots of social bookmarking sites helped us bloggers to increase traffic by submitting our posts in their site. You can also find a plugin that is compatible to your blogsite that will make you connect so easily, just like the one I use on my blog.

Proppeller.com, Digg.com, Del.icio.us, Technorati, Google, Yahoo, MSN, Ontoplist, Topblogging, Facebook, Etc.

3. Join forums

I used this kind of strategy, I noticed that it really increased my pageviews, and lots of visitors commented on my post. But be sure that you will join a forum that is related to what you will publish.

4. Use your friends ^_^

What are friends are for? Don’t misinterpret this strategy, what I mean on using your friends is, they too can be your visitors or even subscribers. If you have accounts on Facebook, Friendster, Multiply. Plurk, Twitter or any other sites that will link you to all of your friends, use the opportunity on how to promote your blog.

5. Join Nuffnang’s Innit

This is one of my favorite, I will just publish my post, log in to my Innit account, retrieve my registered blog, and click submit post. That’s it! What I like about nuffnang’s Innit is that they have a shoutout at the sidebar where you can chat with other bloggers/ Nuffnangers.

6. Ping your blog

I have read lots of posts about this BlogExplosion, a ping site that increases traffic, I have just registered and I can’t comment on it yet because my site is still on review. You can also use the free services on MyPageRank , they have bookmarking, pinging, visitor or pageviews counter and many more.

7. Blog Hopping / Link Building

Bloggers do this to have exchange links with fellow bloggers, they say that it is effective on SEO. But some bloggers are not interested on link exchange unless they have the same interests. This happened to me once, the site owner said that I should not focus only on SEO but I should be more sensitive on interest-based blogs.

8. Subscribe to a site that is related to your Blog

You should do this, why? If you have subscribed on a site that is always updated on what’s new or what’s hot, this will help you if you want to post something about it. You can share the same thing on your fellow bloggers and they might link the post you published.
