Nokia N9: the Meego-based Smartphone

Nokia finally revealed in Nokia Communications 2011 in Singapore their new Meego-based smartphone. It’s the Nokia N9, the first smartphone which runs on Linux-based Meego operating system, this OS is developed by Intel and Nokia. This is a very impressive phone with a 3.9-inch AMOLED screen where you can do different swipe-based gestures. From the home screen, there are already three panel modes, the Applications, events and lastly a grid of windows where you can see the open applications. Though the unit does not have Adobe Flash support as of now, the browser is supported by HTML 5 and Webkit 2 technology.

  • Galaxy on Fire 2
  • Real Golf 2011
  • AMOLED screen with a resolution of 854×480

  • An 8MP camera, with autofocus and LED flash
