At 6:40 p.m. last night, a gunman shot two officers outside the Pentagon at the Metro Station. The officers just ask for his identification, instead of showing it, the gunman drew a gun from his pocket and start shooting the two. The suspect identified as John Patrick Bedell is now under custody, he was injured because the officers return fire. The two officers were also injured because of the incident but it’s not life-threatening. Richard Keevill, chief of the Pentagon Force Protection Agency, released a statement regarding the matter. He said that the suspect fired using a handgun, and confirmed it that he is an American citizen. He said investigators did not yet know the shooter’s motive. “We have a theory, but it’s still a theory,” he said. “It’s going to take time to develop that.” said Keevill.
