Sun Broadband Wireless (SBW 50) Versus Globe Supersurf 50
I am addicted playing my favorite online game, and my only problem is finding a way to have an internet connection. I tried this promo by Sun Broadband Wireless, the SBW50 which is a 24-hour unlimited internet. I didn’t think that this promo by Sun Broadband can handle the internet speed I need. Then I did an experiment, now using Globe Tattoo’s Supersurf 50. This promo didn’t make a good impression to me. Registering to the promo is already a problem, actually the steps are very easy, you just have to send the keyword SUPERSURF50 to 8888, wait for the confirmation message and that’s it. But this happens all the time I receive a message containing “Sorry hindi ma-process and inyong request. Please try again later.” Then one time I successfully registered to their promo at eleven o’clock in the evening. On the other hand, SBW 50 I think is far better than Globe’s Supersurf. All you have to do is type “LOAD”, enter the call card number and pin and send it to 2225. After few seconds, you are already registered to their promo.
I don’t want to be bias, with respect to location, I did the experiment twice, one in Mandaluyong City and the second is in Rizal. The result is the same, Sun Broadband Wireless is better than Globe’s Supersurf. Even browsing the web, Sun is still better, I haven’t tried Smart Bro because of the feedbacks I received from friends and even in the internet. Even my girlfriend who has a Smartbro USB modem complains about the connectivity. By the way I just want to make it clear that I am not endorsing any of these brands, I just want to share my experience between the two. Maybe you can say that the other one is better than the one I think is better. Please feel free to share your experiences about these wireless broadbands.

Globe Supersurf50 is NOT UNLIMITED!!!
Contrary to its claim that Globe Supersurf50 is an unlimited service, the service is actually LIMITED. Do not be fooled. Your internet connection will stop downloading at 1gb and you will receive the message below (see image attachment). The message says: “Globe Advisory: Your account has reached 1GB in usage today. Subject to Globe Fair Use Policy, your internet service has been temporarily deactivated and will resume tomorrow. This promo is intended for moderate use. For heavy browsing, please upgrade to out Tattoo Postpaid plans.”
So, its not unlimited after all. It is fraudulent. Unlimited only for moderate users. Unlimited only for those they know has very low limits of usage. Incongruous. Not exactly the concept of a buffet. It’s like a buffet where you are limited to just a few number of viands – not exactly the eat-all-you-can- until-you-surrender concept and stop eating voluntarily. Here, the service volunteers for you to stop.
Fair Use Policy? What about those who do not even reach a moderate usage. Do they extend the expiry. Globe should instead have a Fair CHARGE Policy . . .and TRUTH IN ADVERTISING POLICY. Nowhere in all the promo will you see, hear, touch or smell about th1GB limit of usage.
To all who are considering subscribing to Supersurf50, THINK AGAIN.

Oh my! is that true?? if that’s the case..choosing SUN SBW is Globe’s
October 4th, 2010 at 3:27 pm
I don’t believe this. It is exactly unlimited 1day down to the last second….and I really use the service.
Sun Broadband though sucks! It’s the worst broadband I ever owned. The connection is sooooo pooor. Both unlimited loads are as they say they are. But the 24hrs you get from SUN is actually 12hours based on the speed. So no Thanks SUN.

It’s different for me. Sun is better than Globe and Smart here in my place. We should consider the location/area where you use the USB internet modem. The network stations distance from you is a very big factor.
October 6th, 2010 at 10:39 pm
Globe unlisurf is not really unlimited!!!!! Globe sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!its fast but its not unlimited!i hate globe!!!>:(

Supersurf50 in globe offers unlimited internet access BEFORE,i have used this service everytime i have to download a huge file since it is said that it is unlimited, BUT just now when im downloading an important file, i received this 1GB notice thing, which really pissed me off. I have to start downloading it all over again because of this 1GB thing. Its a waste of time.
GLOBE, theres no problem if you will put a limit to your promo, BUT MAKE SURE that you inform your customers about it, and dont claim that it is unlimited if in fact it is NOT. You really suck globe!!! STOP WASTING OUR TIME, with your stupid fraudulent promos.
October 8th, 2010 at 8:46 pm
Globe’s Supersurf is not like that before…And I’m very dissapointed too. Maka-Globe pa naman ako. What the hell were they thinking? A limited “Unlimited”? Now I’ve been looking for other options. Nagbakasakali ako, I borrowed a Sun USB and tried it at home. Turns out it works GREAT! Signal is even better than Globe. Fortunately ngayon may HSDPA signal na sila in our place. So goodbye Globe. Hello Sun! Planning to get yung postpaid nilang super affordable at no questions asked pa ang application.

Globe deserves this.

exactly. ive been using both smart and globe. problem with smart is about the load you have. sometimes u load 50, used for an hour then it becomes 10? how come..usually i download music for my gigs. now, it reaches 1gig and it said you have reached 1gig. you are temporarily being disconnected. WTF. now, that is now a real TRUE service to the subscriber. i have wasted 50 pesos and for me its a big amount already. now tried to openline my globe usb modem “successfully” so i tried sun as seen on television. used a web cam and there is no lag at all. so, ill go with SUN this time on. what they say on tv, is the real thing that happens to the real situation wherein we get what we want. Eto po ang experience ko.
Globe – constant po ang speed, as fast as possible depending on location, pero will be disconnected if you reach yun max per day (1GB dati, 800MB na lang daw ngayon).
Wi-Tribe – very stable ang connection, kaya lang if you reach the maximum usage, your speed will drop to as slow as 56kbps. Hindi specified kung gaano or kailan babagal, basta if you download ng tuloy-tuloy (around 1 day), bukas slow na yan.. be prepared na ganyan na yan kabagal for the rest of the month.
Smart – very slow.. don’t use.
Sun – has peak/offpeak limiting. During peak, after activating your unlisurf, very fast for about 2 hours.. after that babagal sya to about 100-200 kbps .. not for downloading large files during peak hours.. pag off peak hours nila (1am-6am) mo lang makukuha max speed
Very unreliable ang kahit na anong wireless internet, so do not sign up for any postpaid plan if budget-conscious kayo. Pwede kasing after a few days/weeks/months, bigla magbago yun performance. Before activating any plan na medyo matagal (more than 1 day na unli), try nyo muna use yun P10/30 minutes to see kung mabilis sa area. Pero note yun usage control nila as I mentioned above.
Sa akin, ang pinaka-ok pa rin is Sun. Hassle lang ng kaunti yun bumabagal after 2 hours ng tuloy-tuloy na download, pero at least hindi ka i-disconnect after reaching maximum download size. Sulit din yun P100 for 3 days, since anyway unli talaga yun speed and walang download limit kapag offpeak 1am-6am..

August 25th, 2011 at 12:35 am
panu mag unli sa sun,.,.because my friend recomend me a sun broadband its cool daw.,..no buffering .,.,
September 3rd, 2011 at 6:36 am
since last year I’m already proud user of Sun Cellular and its been good service and I don’t really have caps and I’m happy when they are in offpeak time 1am to 6am which its really fast fast fast download actually it reached 200+ kbps and I’m really satisfied although my last experience was downloading more than 400kbps which its in brunei I’m really a heavy user when it comes to downloading now I don’t really have plans to move on Smart or Globe and I really know they sucks because I tested it on my cousin’s house which they have Globe Tattoo and SmartBro Dongle.
Thanks Sun Cellular please don’t ever change your plans and don’t copy the ‘unFair use Policy’ of Globeshet.

eto masaya kapag nagkaproblema yung connection. They said they will reverse the charges but the problem has been resolved as of 11 am.
I am normally very understanding.. but this is annoying. Pinapasahan ko pa ung phone ng 5 using my mom’s phone. 2 times, the second upon the recommendation of the representative. But they will refund only the amount passed.. Hindi yung pasa load. E sila nagsabi sa kin no…
I’m so disappointed Globe. I am moving to a different provider and I am taking my whole family with me.

Globe Tattoo’s Supersurf50 vs. Sun Broadband Wireless SBW50? Nahh sa Sun ako syempre! I’ve been using Sun Broadband Wireless for 2 years and it never failed me, sa bilis nya bilib ako kahit saan ako pumwesto, ang bandwith quota? matagal bago ma-reach so you’ll never have any problem regarding of their promo’s cut-off. I have so many doubts about their internet promos.
So sa mga gagamit ng internet usb dongles jan switch to Sun Broadband Wireless with SBW50, and say no to Globe Tattoo with Supersurf50. Mamomroblema lang kayo I’m telling you! Parehas sila ng Smart marame pang kailangang i-improve sa services nila when it comes on online browsing. I’m one of their customers who is satisfied with their service.
