Take-Two pays $20M to Settle Litigation from Grand Theft Auto’s Hidden Sex Scenes
“Take-Two Interactive Software said today that it reached an agreement to settle a securities class-action lawsuit that stemmed from its infamous “hot coffee” incident involving hidden sex scenes in a Grand Theft Auto video game four years ago.” (from Gamesbeat)
The developers at Rockstar Games have included a hidden sex scene in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas video game. The said scene was not playable in the game, but there’s a hacker who released a tool that unlocked it. When people knew about the “hot coffee mod,” as they call it, it caused a scandalous effect.
Take-Two will pay $20.1 million to settle it, their company’s insurers will pay $15.2 million while Take-Two will pay $4.9 million.
